This is a fairly new and unusual idea as saltwater aquariums need to be much more stable and the larger volume of water the easier it is to create and keep it stable.

This book covers the concept and how to implement it. There are a lot of lists of suitable species of the many different reef types. The general type is noted, but for someone who is not very familiar with the different species, it is very frustrating. Also, the chapters that mention the best suited animals for nano reefs do not have pictures of the one mentioned. The Nano-Reef Handbook contains all the information necessary to get started.
