It runs fine but each time I launch it, I get a popup that says it cannot update the system registry and the default mail program has no t been changed. Eudora is working perfectly. How can I get rid of that popup? Which version of Eudora are you using? This issue may occur if Eudora is not set as the default email program. You may try setting Eudora as the default email program and check.
Click on the set programs tab in the Internet programs section. In the Set your default programs, click on Eudora to highlight it, and then click on Set this program as default. You may also try to uninstall Eudora and reinstall it. Select Eudora from the programs list and uninstall it. You may check if the Eudora version you are using is compatible with Windows 8. Eudora Windows 8 Compatibility.
If the issue persists, you may also check with Eudora support to install the compatible version with Windows 8 and for further assistance. A reference to the disk file is then inserted in the corresponding email to preserve the link between them. Unfortunately, Eudora does not provide a means to update this reference when the location of the attachment folder is changed.
When the link is broken, the message can no longer open the extracted contents. Aid4Mail uses links stored in messages to find the corresponding attachments. If it cannot find the files at the indicated location, Aid4Mail searches for the location relative to the mailbox file being processed. When this fails, the extracted contents are lost during the conversion process. To avoid this, you can define a configuration file to tell Aid4Mail where to look for extracted attachments.
To do so, create an INI file called Tokens. Note that any changes you make to the file must be saved before you launch Aid4Mail, or else they might not be picked up by the software.
When using Tokens. It stores all the alternative search paths used by Aid4Mail to look for missing files. Any suggestions for a cure will be greatly appreciated! Dennis Lee Bieber.
I found the subject folder. I deleted each, closed all the programs and shut down the computer. After a few minutes, I restarted the computer, went online, and clicked to restart Eudora. To my disappointment, the same thing happened, showing the words in the 2 dialog boxes I reported earlier. I have subsequently repeated this maybe dozen times.
It seems that each time I try to restart Eudora, another eudxxx.. Do you think there may be some reasonable finite number of these items in there someplace, and that if I continue this process they could all be eliminated?
I'll get started on Dennis's suggestions tomorrow sometime, but would appreciate any other suggestions in the meantime. Ajo Wissink.
